Hot Flashes in Men
That’s right—men have them, too. When they occur, hot flashes can last for a few minutes, or as long as an hour. They can come on frequently, or just occasionally. Some men will have night sweats (i.e., hot flashes that happen during sleep). Regardless of how they’re experienced, hot flashes trouble about 20% of our clients pre-treatment.
Causes of Hot Flashes
Low Testosterone
Hot flashes occur because the hypothalamus gland—which controls body temperature—emits faulty signals relative to body temperature.
What causes this malfunctioning of the hypothalamus? Generally, low testosterone.
Stress and Cortisol
Stress can be another trigger. When stressed, your body releases excess cortisol. And cortisol can trigger hot flashes.
Treatment for Hot Flashes
The solution to hot flashes is straightforward: balanced hormones. Restoring hormones to healthy levels eliminates them for virtually everyone. No more sweating. No more discomfort. And you’ll sleep better, too.
